A SHOW AS DEEP AS ITS POOL IS SHALLOW

WHO ARE THEY?

They are not anti-feminist, but in these days of equal opportunities, is it not possible for two men to excel in a discipline that is the preserve of women?

Without wishing to storm one of the bastions of feminine grace, is it not true that the honed, slender, muscular body of a man can sometimes, beyond its pure form, astonish us by its pure elegance?

These two apparently highly trained sportsmen are above all a pair of clowns. For this synchronized show, they arrive as an elite swimming duo (with matching trunks and caps) at the edge of an inflatable pool,1 metre in diameter. Their professional manner and the minuscule size of the pool can only augur and accentuate their absurdity.

Their perfectly choreographed exhibition can obviously not proceed entirely as planned. Clumsiness makes a show-stealing cameo appearance, to the delight of children and adults.

From droplets to flood tide, from splashdown to slip-up, the outcome is a precious shared moment, an amazing epic of sporting history.
